THANKYOU to everyone who came to our fascinating talk about hypo hounds in June. We met Steph and her beautiful dog Eva who was an instant hit with all the children! Hypo hounds are a new charity based in Kent who help people with complex, brittle diabetes ( i.e. Who have little or no hypo awareness) ) by training their own young pets to recognise hypos by smell and alert the person or their Carer to the fact that they need help. http://hypohounds.co.uk/
If you coudn’t make the talk you can see a lovely example of their work here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLbaE_fN6OY
They do great work and we wish them every success.
Once again many thanks to our arts and crafts experts in the room next door who entertained about 30 children and produced some fun artwork.
Thanks to all who bought raffle tickets and I hope whoever won the decorative washing up brush is enjoying it!
